My Girlfriend and I were looking for cosy accommodation, close to the town centre but not a room in a generic chain hotel. We chose Buckingham House based upon the previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Teri made us feel very welcome. She even arranged a table for us at a very busy French restaurant on a Saturday without any drama. The breakfast was a refreshing change from a stodgy fry up. We particularly enjoyed the poached peaches and homemade Greek yoghurt. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The location was perfect and allowed for a convenient and great night out (especially when stopping at every pub on the way back!). We would be more than happy to recommend Buckingham House to any of our family or friends. Thank you Teri for a wonderful stay.

Our choice of accommodation was based on the lovely informative website and we were not disappointed when we arrived from the south. Terri is a wonderful hostess and clearly loves her city. She has plenty of suggestions to keep her guests occupied during their stay. We stayed in the garden suite which is a beautiful, spacious, tranquil room overlooking the back of the property. We walked the historic city walls and melted our credit cards in the lovely shopping area in the city centre. Breakfast, although not the full English my husband enjoys from time to time was absolutely delicious - we were quite full on porridge, fruit, eggs and rolls and felt healthy at the end of it all! We would recommend to all and will definitely back in the future.

Milton Keynes

A very well kept little hotel, within easy walking distance of Chester Centre, but far enough out to be nice and quiet. Access and parking good, and the rooms are clean, well presented and tasteful. Terri is a mine of information, and very happy to guide you in the things to see and do. A very nice hostess indeed. I would have marked our stay all 5 stars if they did Full English Breakfasts, but this is not available here at Buckingham House :( Terri does a lovely continental style breakfast that is healthy and tasty. Personally when you are on holiday you do like to indulge in a cooked breakfast or two! particularly when at home you don't often get chance. Anyway, really nice, and enjoyed our stay. If we come back to Chester, we would stay again, perhaps i could convince Terri to make me that breakfast!!! :)

Huddersfield

My wife and myself opted for the Deluxe room which had its own kitchenette and was fine for cooling our drinks which we took to celebrate my birthday. Nice to stretch out in the massive bed, car parking was no problem as there was a private gated yard to the rear . Terri was a gold mine of information about Chester and the surrounding areas, the breakfasts we had were excellent , nothing was too much trouble, from the very nice home cooked porridge ,the juicy warm fruit and yoghurt with honey and the toast and eggs to finish , all in all a very memorable treat  (including the candle for me to make a wish). Would we return? oh YES

Our three days here were most enjoyable. Thank you for all your help and directions. We loved the food, breakfast was delightful. We had an evening meal first evening as a trail. It was so good we ate in each evening.  The food was superb, with interesting tasty touches. An altogether enjoyable holiday.  We felt very "cosseted".M & EExcellent service and food.

Very good accommodation, very clean and well furnished, a house of considerable character, much like its owner who made me very welcome. She contacted me in advance to check my time of arrival and to help with directions. From here it was a relatively short walk into Chester, so was an easy and convenient place to stay. I would certainly recommend Buckingham House to anyone spending a few days in the area. JS

Very attentive service by Terri, couldn't have done more. Very knowledgeable, informative and helpful. Room spotless and warm. Breakfast was very tasty and healthy (Didn't miss full English at all) Stay was at Easter celebrating a birthday, Terri arranged a lovely Italian meal with a memorable surprise included. Would definitely recommend Buckingham House.
